Colon Hydrotherapy

Colon irrigation or hydrotherapy has emerged as one of the most popular detox methods worldwide. This practice has been around since 1500 B.C. Colonic Hydroptherapy can help flush out toxins naturally and restore your health. When combined with a balanced diet, its benefits are even greater.

What is the Colon?
The colon has been referred to as the sewer system of the body. It is the last five feet of the digestive tract; a hollow tube like organ that moves digested food along by a wavelike motion known as peristaltic action.

Why Cleanse the Colon?
In a nutshell the build up of toxins has been linked to many health conditions. If you’ve ever eaten junk food, fatty foods, sweets, fizzy drinks, chemically treated foods, preserved or processed foods you will benefit from colon therapy. Moreover we live in a toxic world. Even if you eat clean, you’re still exposed to chemicals on a daily basis.

When the daily rigors and diets of modern life besiege us, the colon becomes the repository of accumulated waste and numerous unhealthy toxins that may disable the body’s purification system.

The Benefits of Colonic Hydroptherapy
Colonic Hydroptherapy helps cleanse your body from the inside out, eliminating toxins and heavy metals. It’s a safe, natural way to reduce colon toxicity and keep your digestive system running smoothly. It also restores gut flora, which in turn, improves immune function and strengthens your natural defense mechanisms.

Colonic Hydroptherapy is widely used as a natural treatment for IBS, gut flora imbalances, recurring allergies, skin disorders, digestive disorders, obesity and constipation. Compared to enemas, colonic hydrotherapy is far more effective at removing toxins and metabolic waste from your system.

Over 42,200 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year. It is now the second most common cause of cancer death after lung cancer. Cancer Research UK have listed a number of possible causative factors, diet, inflammation and obesity are high on that list.

Cleansing your bowels on a regular basis along with a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle can help mitigate some of these causative factors. Prevention is always better than cure.

What Type of Device do we use and why

There are many different types of Colonic devices; all of them work essentially the same way which involves introducing warm filtered water through a small tube in to the rectum to cleanse the colon. However after having tried the various systems we personally believe the Libbe to be the most effective, it is State of the Art and is hailed by many as

the Rolls Royce of Colonic Hydroptherapy. It’s the very same system used and loved on Harley Street by an international community who want the very best and safest method of cleansing.

Its unique for many reasons, one of them is that the colon therapist is not required to be with you throughout the whole session. Lets be honest, going to the toilet is one of the most if not THE most personal activities a person does in their day-to-day life. We have been conditioned from a very early age to go to the toilet alone, having someone albeit a therapist present in the room who’s trying to encourage you to release your bowels is not a very comfortable or dignified experience. During the course of the session you will be releasing lots of gas and trapped wind that can be quite embarrassing for the client. The most common colonic devices also require the therapist to hold the speculum in your rectum again not a comfortable experience, the client can not push at will or you could end up causing a mess on the table or on the floor. Similarly odour is only contained in the speculum unless it leaks or blows out due to the waste being too large, which can be a regular occurrence.

Also if the released waste is too large for the speculum this can get quite uncomfortable as pressure builds up in the rectum and there is no place for it to go, so the therapist has to release the pressure, then extract the water in order for you to get off the table and make a dash for the toilet in order to release the fecal matter. Having water pressurised in to the colon also increases the urge for you to release your bladder, the conventional colonic device does not cater for this and again to get from the table to the toilet becomes a harrowing experience.

All of these issues are non existent with a Libbe system, firstly the therapist does not need to be present with you the whole time, its designed so that you can safely have a colonic experience in PRIVACY. This allows you to relax your colon without having to worry about the smells, noises, and any negative impression you may be giving to the therapist, once this anxiety disappears you will release much more which is the ultimate outcome of Colonic Hydroptherapy. Nevertheless a therapist is at hand at all times, and will normally only enter the room if required or to massage the abdomen to help release the fecal matter even more.

This Colonic device is much safer and gentler because the rate at which the water enters the body is solely regulated by gravity and not high-pressured water like most colon hydrotherapy machines. It can be turned off at any time and you are free to release the water at any time. The nozzle that gets inserted in to the rectum is also much thinner than the normal speculums, about the thickness of a pencil which makes for a much more comfortable experience.

The Libbe allows the colon and bladder to release as needed straight into the device, therefore your dignity is always maintained. You have the ability to push as and when required which many find much more comfortable, there is an odour control system which removes any odour, so no embarrassment, waste can be any size, so no need to interrupt the session every few minutes in order to make a dash for the toilet whenever the waste is too large or when you feel your bladder filling up.

The Libbe system is very user friendly, its not intimidating in fact its quite comfortable and you actually look forward to each session. It’s certainly the most dignified way to clean your colon, DON’T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT COME AND GIVE IT A TRY.

Pre Treatment

  • Please ensure that you don’t eat 2 hours prior to receiving colonic hydrotherapy; instead drink plenty of purified water.
  • Prior to your first Colon Hydrotherapy session you will be required to complete a Health questionnaire to determine your suitability for the therapy. Plan to arrive 20 minutes before your session in order to discuss the Health questionnaire.

Post Treatment

  • The room is medically sanitized after each treatment.
  • In between treatments you should try to ensure that you drink plenty of liquids such as pure water, juices and herbal teas. Consume vegetable soups for 24 hours after the session. Reduce heavy meat consumption and eat plenty of vegetables. Avoid processed, preserved, fatty and junk foods.
  • Several treatments are necessary to clean the fecal waste that has accumulated over years in the bowel and for that reason we highly recommend a starter course of 10 treatments to thoroughly cleanse the bowel.
